Leading 'Green' Franchise Expands Into Indoor Air Quality Testing

CLEVELAND, OH, August 1, 2012 – Effective this week, Pro Energy Consultants® locations across the United States are beginning to offer indoor air quality testing services that will analyze more than 400 contaminants and mold spore activity, providing a detailed analysis of levels and source locations.   The Environmental Protection Agency reports that indoor air is far more polluted than outdoor air, and is a factor increasingly linked to a wide range of health issues.  Combined, Pro Energy Consultants services will now help homeowners reduce energy waste, solve indoor comfort issues, and improve the air they breathe.

“Our diagnostic home assessments have always addressed indoor air quality concerns from the perspective of air exchange rates and ventilation; we essentially test how a home ‘breathes,’” stated Mark Cannella, Founder of Pro Energy Consultants and owner of the Northeast Ohio franchise.  “We’ve seen a dramatic increase in the number of people concerned about their air quality and its potential health effects.  Now we can help identify the specific contaminants that may be making them sick.”

Costing far less than the services of an industrial hygienist, a Pro Energy Consultant can perform an air sampling test for typically $200-$400 without destructive testing measures.  Cost varies depending on the size of the property, and discounts are offered if performed in conjunction with an energy audit.  “Because we depressurize a home as part of the energy audit process, we’re forcing air circulation to happen and thus can collect a more insightful sample than if the air quality sampling was performed alone,” stated Cannella.

“Pregnant women, children, the elderly, allergy sufferers and anyone with a comprised immune system are especially susceptible to the negative health effects associated with poor indoor air quality.  Current research even links the alarming increases in childhood asthma to indoor air contaminants,” stated Kylene Golubski, President of Pro Energy.   “We’ll be undertaking special efforts to reach and educate these groups in particular.”

During the month of August, Pro Energy will be using its Twitter, Facebook, Energy Audit Experts Blog and website to distribute important information about indoor air quality.  Visit http://www.proenergyconsultants.com/poor-indoor-air-quality for more information.

Pro Energy has partnered with Prizm Analytical Technologies, the leading consultative air testing laboratory in the United States, as its testing equipment and lab services provider.  Pro Energy franchised locations send clients’ air samples to Prizm, and a detailed, easy to read report of the findings is emailed to the client within 48 hours.
